چکیده
Abstract. Hydrologic events can be characterized as particular combinations of hydrological processes on a hillslope scale. To configure mechanisms, we analyzed dataset using an unsupervised machine learning algorithm to cluster the hydrologic based dissimilarity distances between weighting components self-organizing map (SOM). The time series soil moisture was measured at 30 points (at 10 locations with three different depths) for 356 rainfall steep, forested 2007 and 2016. features effectively represented by antecedent moisture, difference index, standard deviation peak-to-peak response. Five clusters were delineated hydrologically meaningful event classifications in SOM representation. two-dimensional spatial patterns provided more insights into relationships characteristics, wetness, response depths. distinction classified could explained several conditions that resulted attributable processes, vertical flow, lateral flow along either surface or subsurface boundaries upslope downslope areas.

Lifestyle patterns in the Iranian population: Self- organizing map application
Background: The present study evaluated the lifestyle behavior patterns and its associations with demographic factors in the Iranian population. Methods: A total of 8244 people aged 25-70 years who participated in a national survey in 2011 were included in the study. Factors related to lifestyle (such as diet, physical activity, and tobacco use) have been collected using a questionnaire. A sel...
متن کاملSoil moisture storage and hillslope stability
Recently, we presented a steady-state analytical hillslope stability model to study rain-induced shallow landslides. This model is based on kinematic wave dynamics of saturated subsurface storage and the infinite slope stability assumption. Here we apply the model to investigate the effect of neglecting the unsaturated storage on the assessment of slope stability in the steady-state hydrology. ...
متن کامل“Cape Fear”—A Hybrid Hillslope Plot for Monitoring Hydrological Processes
Innovative experimental field designs and methods are instrumental for dissecting hydrological processes in hillslopes. However, experimental studies at the catchment scale are rarely affordable to most research groups, and laboratory flumes are oversimplified to reproduce natural phenomena. In this work, we present the innovative “hybrid” experimental plot of Cape Fear, which features controll...
متن کاملSelf-Organizing Polynomial Neural Network for Modelling Complex Hydrological Processes
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been used increasingly for modelling com-plex hydrological processes. In this paper, we present a self-organizing polynomial neural network (SOPNN) algorithm, which combines the theory of bio-cybernetic self-organizing polynomial (SOP) with the artificial neural network (ANN) approach. With the SOP feature of seeking the best combination of polynomial mode...
